Although mental health is probably the single most important factor in determining the quality of life, many hesitate to seek treatment for mental illness. Unfortunately, people continue to suffer without taking advantage of the wide range of safe and effective treatments.

Your life is extremely valuable, and people care about you. You may feel alone and hopeless, but help is available.

  • Reach out now.
    People who receive early treatment are more likely to have positive outcomes. The symptoms associated with mental illnesses tend to come on slowly and worsen with time. You may not realize that initial pain has progressed to daily suffering and your illness also is impacting the people around you. You may begin to lose pieces of your life –– your hobbies, your job, your friends, your marriage. Please don’t wait.
  • Seek professional help.
    Make an appointment with a psychiatrist or other mental health professional for a thorough diagnostic evaluation. The proper treatment, which may include psychotherapy, stress management, medication, exercise, and education, is key to a sustained recovery. The Mercer County, NJ 24-hour emergency screening center will help you assess the crisis and determine what to do. You may request that the Mobile Outreach Team come to the location of the emergency.
